A Bit of History
Established in 1998, Windowclean Centre has grown to become one of the UK's leading suppliers of professional window cleaning equipment, serving trade customers, facilities management companies, local authorities, property owners and cleaning professionals throughout the UK and around the world.
Our roots in the industry stretch back much further. Managing Director Darrell Chalkley has been involved in window cleaning since the 1970s, continuing a family tradition that began with his father, Edward "Ted" Chalkley. Ted's introduction to the trade came during the Second World War while serving in the Merchant Navy. During shore leave in New York, he joined a window cleaning crew and gained first-hand experience working on some of the city's most iconic buildings, including the world-famous Empire State Building.
