Inventor Sören Samuelsson, originally from Sweden, moved to the United States in 1971, initially for a short stay but soon decided to remain permanently and pursue the "American Dream." He quickly recognised that traditional window cleaning equipment could be improved to save time and reduce fatigue. His guiding philosophy was simple: use the largest practical squeegee for the job. Why use a 12" (30cm) squeegee when a 24" (55cm) could complete the task in half the time with less effort? This thinking led to the development of Sörbo's wide-body systems, and today the range includes squeegees and applicators (strip washers) in sizes up to 90cm (36").
