At The Windowclean Centre, we take the responsible sale of professional window cleaning equipment seriously. Some of the products we sell contain sharp metal blades and are therefore subject to our 18+ Age Verification Policy.

Which products require age verification?
UK law prohibits the sale of certain knives, blades and bladed articles to anyone under the age of 18.
Professional window cleaning equipment includes a wide variety of metal scrapers and replacement blades and, rather than attempt to distinguish between individual products according to their particular design or specification, The Windowclean Centre applies its age-verification policy to all metal scrapers and metal scraper blades sold through our website.
We believe this provides a clear, consistent and responsible approach.
Products covered by our policy are identified as Age Restricted – 18+ on our website.
How does age verification work?
If your order contains an age-restricted product, you will be asked to confirm that you are aged 18 or over using OneID®.
OneID provides a secure digital age check using verified information. Depending upon the verification method offered, you may be able to confirm your age using your mobile phone or UK online banking.
The process normally takes only a few moments.
Once your age has been successfully verified, confirmation is provided so that your order can proceed.
Do I need to upload my passport or driving licence?
Normally, no.
One of the advantages of OneID is that age can usually be verified digitally without requiring you to photograph or upload identity documents.
For example, verification may be carried out using information held by your mobile network or through your UK online banking service.
Will The Windowclean Centre see my banking information?
No. We do not see your online banking login details.
Where online banking is used, you deal with your bank through the secure verification process and authorise the sharing of the information required for the age check.
The purpose of the process is simply to establish that you meet the required age threshold.
Why does The Windowclean Centre use OneID®?
We wanted our age-verification procedure to be both effective and straightforward for our customers.
OneID is a specialist UK digital identity provider whose services are designed to verify information securely while minimising the personal information that needs to be shared.
Its age-verification services can provide confirmation that a customer is over 18 without requiring The Windowclean Centre to collect and store copies of identity documents ourselves.
What happens if I cannot verify my age?
If we cannot obtain confirmation that you are aged 18 or over, unfortunately we cannot complete the sale of products covered by our Age Verification Policy.
You can, of course, continue to purchase other products from our website that are not age restricted.
Will I need to verify my age when my order is delivered?
Some age-restricted products may also be subject to age or identity checks when delivered.
Where this applies, an adult aged 18 or over should be available to accept the delivery and may be asked by the carrier to provide suitable identification.
Why have we introduced this policy?
The Windowclean Centre has supplied professional window cleaning equipment since 1998. Many of the scrapers and blades we sell are specialist professional tools designed for removing paint, adhesive, building residue and other contamination from glass.
Used correctly, they are invaluable window cleaning tools. They are also extremely sharp.
For that reason, we believe it is appropriate to take a cautious and consistent approach to their sale.
Rather than make individual judgements about which particular metal scraper or blade should or should not require verification, we require age verification for all metal scrapers and metal scraper blades purchased through our website.
It adds a small additional step to the ordering process, but one that helps us sell these products responsibly.
